“Peace will guide the planet and “love will steer the stars” So says the song "Aquarius\Let the Sunshine In." Are we still dawning the age of Aquarius? Are we waking up to our common humanity? Pluto, the planet of transformation, transcendence, powerful, psychological overcoming is in the early degrees of Aquarius. It is also conjunct Mars, the planet of war. Together Pluto and Mars look like the rupture and despair many of us feel. We worry that we will destroy ourselves and our planet.
This could be the darkest hour before the dawn—a dark hour which makes us clamor for light, be desperate for light, and seeking answers to tough questions. Perhaps we are being motivated to be willing to do what we have to do to wake up and rise above our own noise.
Somewhere in your chart you have a powerful cluster of planets in Aquarius. This is where you are being invited to think more expansively and out of the box. Exercise your will to step out of your conditioned reflexes, and your comfort zone. Live and let live. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. The Moon in Leo reflects our will, dedication and consecration to purpose. In Tarot, will is represented by a woman with her hands in the mouth of a fierce-looking red lion. She wears a white dress. White stands for purity. One does not introduce doubt or fear, equivocation or timidity when it comes to going after one's ideals.
Do we have the strength and the will to love?* Will we stop making exceptions, even though higher principles are tugging at our awareness? “All you need is love,” the Beatles sang famously. Love is all there is. Then, what’s the problem? It could be that some of us are not willing to let love rule in situations where we feel injured or wronged.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” —Martin Luther King.
"Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” —The Dalai Rama
Neptune, the planet of universal love, has just entered Aries where it will be for the next 12 years. It will be interesting to see what develops. The keywords for Aries are, I am.
One might say: I am a leader. I am an author, I am an innovator, I am a trailblazer. However, Neptune is no respecter of persons. Neptune in Aries will only be successful if love leads. Neptune recognizes the universal. To the degree that you feel it is more important to separate than unify, Neptune in Aries will not go well for you.
Practicum
For Neptune in Aries. Reflect in writing or conversation.
What does love as a practice, not a feeling, look like for me right now?
What might it mean for me to sacrifice my false self to my higher self?
When I observe an instance where I am being separate and contrary. How might I make a correction?
For example: Not long ago in a neighborhood near me, I found myself putting down the rougher part of town I was driving through. My Voice reminded me that I was within. Therefore, that rough neighborhood was within me and to disrespect it, was to disrespect myself and my God. Then I wondered where the concept of rough neighborhood comes from and if I might contribute to making it fixed by my judgment. All ground is holy ground.
Being within, coming from Source, is an aspect of Neptune.
