From self-expression comes community. From Leo comes Aquarius. From me comes we. In Leo, I want what I want. In Aquarius, I want what we want. The signs form in a circle. Even if I am 180 degrees from you, we are part of the same circle. When we are 180 degrees apart, we are opposites of the same thing. As “I” evolve, I want nothing more than for you to have that which you seek.
As I express the solar principle, my heart, my courage, I forge better connections with you and we are able to be in community.
Pluto in Aquarius might herald the speculated dawning or “awakening” of the age of Aquarius. Pluto in Aquarius might ask us to transcend the negative parts of social media and talk to each other in a way that builds cohesion of the One Mind.
We may be in the early stages, where we are kind of primitive and clumsy. We come stumbling and tumbling in. We squabble. We curse. We condemn.
Aquarius is associated with the 11th house. The 11th is also called the house of group affiliations and of friends, hopes and wishes. I associate the 11th with The Impossible Dream and the concept of utopias. You have to dare to dream Aquarian dreams because people will call you a fool and shun you, lest they be thought foolish too.
I believe that The Hero’s journey—the journey to consciousness and beingness—is to dream and pursue the impossible dream and strive for the best.
Aquarius is said to be detached. Opposite the personal will of Leo, to some extent detached means objective and unbiased. When you learn astrology, you learn that the 7th house is personal alliances—dear friends, business partners, and marriage partners. The difference between Libra-type friends and Aquarian-type friends is that your Libra-type friends might expect allegiance, agreement, and love. Your Aquarian-type friends respect your differences. At least in theory, they love you the way you are. You are free to be yourself with them. You can come from your heart spontaneously and true and be together because you want to be together. The feeling is mutual and un-coerced. Aquarian alliances are usually along the lines of like-mindedness. We gravitate together because we think alike and like the same things.
Social media is still a relatively new and evolving construct. It is a way to show yourself to the world and to tell the world what you think. We are charged in the new order to manage this so that it may be a gift that brings us together. We are charged with learning to use its great power and blessing. I think, ultimately, we are managing social communication that is not just on line, but on the airwaves being picked up by the group.
