Beginning with What I Believe

Full Moon| December 18, 2021 | 27 Gemini 29’

“Is this it?” the Full Moon asks the Sun. “Am I reflecting your intentions? Is my mind right? Do I say what I mean and mean what I say? Am I clear?”

The habitual mind, represented by the Moon in Gemini, is being tempered. First stop is checking with Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. If Pluto in Capricorn is telling us to overcome the earth, rise above obstacles, restrictions, and inhibitions; how is Venus going to play into the picture? Rise above love as a duty or love which hurts? Rise above traditional ideas of love that make love usurious or injurious? Venues retrograde from December 19 - January 28 provides an opportunity to notice how we "do" love.

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with what I believe. Sagittarius calls us to Jupiter in Aquarius. Expand your humanity, says Jupiter. Open your mind to possibilities that go beyond the known world for you. Let the sunshine in.

I recently dreamed of sitting on a couch with a man, joined from the hip to the foot. He sat on my left side, and I did not see him as much as feel him. My thoughts in the dream were, this time last year I did not have a man. The feeling was what a difference a year makes. It felt like a quick change. I was reminded of the ten of Cups in the Rider-Waite deck where the Lovers stand close to each other with their hands raised as if they were a single body and he raises the left hand and she the right. They represent The Alchemical Marriage, which is really the mystic inner marriage, and combined in this manner, one has all that one needs, house, land, happy children, and stream.

As there is no new man in my life in the flesh, I take this dream as saying that at last I am aligned with my inner man, and that this is the most important union there is and that should a man enter my life now, he would not complete me because I am already whole, embracing life in its dual manifestation. In sickness and in health, richer or poorer are relative expressions of the One thing and if you know this, you can weather any storm in your life. You know love is the master plan and you walk holding the master’s hand, even if you walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

This chart features a square between Saturn, structure and Uranus, shocker. I think of a line from an Alice Walker Poem, “Expect nothing, live frugally on surprise.” I am not sure how frugality plays into it but surprise rather than expectation, sounds like a good thing. I modify the line: “Expect nothing, live happily on surprise.”

We are also asked to think about how we are focused on people we hope to relate to relative to whether we are functioning from wholeness or fraction, community, or faction. Love your enemies. Love your neighbors. If you want them to change for the better, look upon them with better eyes.

PRACTICUM

If thine eye be single, thy body shall be filled with light. If your eye blessed everywhere you looked, you would discover that you had the Midas touch and the body that is your earth, would pop flowers in winter, open doors, ease passage, give tickets and talismans and tokens.

Practice placing a silent blessing upon the head of those who frustrate and aggravate you. If you cannot conjure a blessing, then just don’t offer a curse. Try this for a day, a week, a month, a season. For sure you will become more conscious as you pay attention. I expect that you will be surprised that things work out for you and people treat you better.
