Full Moon
Lunar Eclipse
December 10, 2011
18 Gemini 11’
Life has meaning when we serve it. When Sagittarius rises, Virgo, sign of work and service, is at the apex—the high noon position of the sky.
If we are disconnected from our work, we are disconnected from the fiery vitality that meaning provides. This work may be done daily, even if you don’t have a job or money. This work may or may not be connected to what you are currently doing for money. If it is not, the key isn’t in finding a better job with improved conditions. It is about upping the amperage that resides in you, raising the light that is the creative spark within you, a smaller light if unattended.
In order to have a job, many of us surrender (Pisces) our drive for fun and pleasure (Leo). We are persuaded that this is necessary, that work is grim business and no place for levity, joy or individuality. Leave your spark and your creativity at home. Do the job as described and follow the rules.
But Leo comes before Virgo and Earthy Virgo is a continuation of fiery Leo. In Tarot, the key representing Virgo is the Hermit who carries a lantern, the light of which is a six-rayed star, the Shield of David. David means Beloved. Leo rules the back and the heart. If your love is in it, it is easier to put your back into it. Leo rules the fifth house of creative self-expression and love. Create yourself. Create yourself today wherever you are—at the job or not.
I heard a Native American say that there was no word for religion in his language, that it was not a thing separated from any other thing in life—the food, the animals and the earth. Perhaps work should similarly be simply a part of the way we live, independent of set hours and parameters. Perhaps the formula is do what you love, and you will have a way to lift your doing into light-bearing, life-giving service.
The thing that most gives your life meaning today might be that which you volunteer or give away. It might mean putting your money where your mouth is, calling a thing according to your values rather than convention or expedience. It might mean flowing, not folding under pressure. It might mean taking a chance. Entrepreneur means one who assumes risk while organizing and managing an undertaking. Where do you need to mean business and assume risk in your life? Can you do it as a way of life so that it can fire up and permeate your life as a whole?
Do what you love, Leo, and the work, Virgo, will follow.
The Moon will be eclipsed this Full Moon. Fade to black on those old habits of mind that don’t allow you to take the chance to become engaged and involved in doing what warms you. Don’t worry when you could be working.
Guard against undermining yourself with discouraging self talk about your body, your prospects, or your money. Don’t be frightened by threatening specters. Seeing is creating. Use temporary setbacks to regroup and strategize. Plot giving love and generosity.
Be an angel. Do a loving act of kindness. Pay it forward. Give so that room may be created to receive. Open up. Be real in a beneficent way.
FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD
How strong is your faith? How directed is it? How energized? Are you shot forth with determination, ready to cut through the air to go straight to your goal?
I saw a program where people were being trained to use their minds to get what they want. One of the exercises involved shooting a bow at a target many feet away while blindfolded. The instructor commented that those who shot to the left of the target were often focused on the past. Arrows that fell short of the target meant that the person was not strong enough to believe they could hit their goals by focusing their minds.
The person who has strong faith tests the promise in the fires of life in order to prove the soundness of what they hear. Every day you are talking to yourself (Moon in Gemini) according to the Voice or voices you are listening to.
Your speech either orients you toward your target, or leaves you aimless and feeling that work is futile. The Moon is conjunct the South Node in Gemini. Don’t give in to the habit mind unless your habit mind is in service to your aims and goals. If you’re talking trash, choose thoughts that are more faithful. Pay attention to what you have faith in. What are you counting on? Some of us have dogged faith that our efforts will come to naught, that there is nothing we can do, that we’re always disappointed, that a greater power is calling the shots and it isn’t the Higher Power.
Mars in Virgo square both the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Gemini means that we need to put our energy into the work and practice that will confirm positive thoughts. If you don’t practice, you don’t know if your words and thoughts have merit. Pay careful attention to intuitions that offer creative resolutions. Confirm those intuitions by serving them.

Sister Inez, thank you for this lunation. Moon in Gemini that’s me. I had to look up at the moon after reading your words and then continue my film editing.
You are welcome Morenike! Keep on keeping on! No one does what you do quite like you do it.
