“The secret of life is death, for without death, man would not strive to leave his mark upon the earth.” – From the movie Somewhere in Time

Your most important possession is your intuition—your inner knowing. Without inner knowing you are disconnected and adrift. The more disconnected you are, the wilder and more unpredictable life is and the more you fear the death that is so necessary for evolution.

Now’s the time to say goodbye to all your agony. You will see, and see it real soon; and you’ll know why. Why? Because it’s done. Gone. Finis. You are not a victim. Even if you were a victim and had your innocence ripped from you, if you can read these words, you can rise again.

If you can read these words, you can take that sudden inhalation, that first breath of a new life. And with that breath, you might wail, mourning the suck-your-thumb bliss of riding on the waves not having to use your own power, not having to make a decision, not saying what you want and daring to wait and work to give it shape. It seems safe to live the whole life in servitude and bondage, where all you do is try to please and appease those who hold the power that you do not have.
Recently I heard that fear is in the thinking and confidence is in the doing. If that is so, then live. Live means getting up, doesn’t it? It means taking action. It means opening up and throwing off and feeling free and taking a chance.

I came upon a story from a book that came into my life at the same time as astrology:  The New Man: The Parables and Miracles of Christ, by Maurice Nicole. He tells the story of a man lying beside the Pool of Five Porches who cannot walk. This man must get into these healing waters, but he tells Jesus that there is no man to put him in. Now he is close; the healing waters are right there, but he cannot get in. He tells Jesus that there is no man to put him in, which is like saying there is no one to save him. Jesus doesn’t pick him up either. Jesus tells him to pick up his own bed and walk.

We are like the multitude of those lying close to the five porches in the miracle . . . And here lie all who have accepted the Truth of a higher order which demands a new way of thinking, and who are still close to their ordinary way of thinking; they have accepted the Word, the truth about inner evolution and rebirth and cannot do it. So they lie, close to the natural truth and, as it were, in between two orders of truth, the truth of the five senses and the Truth of the Word of God. He lies in the Truth he has received but cannot walk in it –that is, he cannot live and do it.” – Maurice Nicole

Maurice says that the Five Porches represent the five senses and that the man represents the spiritual neophyte who hears the Word and believes it, but cannot live it. But in order for the neophyte to heal her condition, the neophyte must walk in her new faith. As the song says, “I believe I’ll run on, see what the end’s gonna be. ”Her first steps may be infirm, but confidence comes with the doing.

Emotional resiliency is the key. Emotional resiliency is the ability to endure and not flee. It’s the ability to face your fears, go ahead and look for another job, seek training in your new interest, try your hand at public speaking or performing. This is the ability to walk out of the untenable situation. Your feet are made for walking. Keep your eye on the prize! Expect the best. Even if you are denied along the way, momentarily thwarted, or presented with an obstacle you had not anticipated, remember that it’s all good and that you can. You can. You must be the eyes and ears, legs, arms and hands of the Invisible so that good may be manifested here on earth.

“Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill.
