“I am the water of life, the mute, dark mirror of substance, reflecting myself to myself.” –Book of Tokens
The Full Moon begins the New Year and the Moon is in the sign it rules, Cancer. Cancer is feelings. Cancer is the sign that rules home and family, and by extrapolation, safety and security. It is said that if we change our thoughts, we change our manifestations. To change our thoughts, we must change our vibration—another word for feelings.
Moon phases are evidence that the Cosmos is orderly. There are four pivotal moon phases a month, new moon, first quarter moon, full moon and last quarter moon. The natural order is care and feeding, represented by Mother, including Mother Nature which provides all that we need to survive, thrive and create.
The order is natural goodness and goes on with or without us, though we cannot escape it. Try to escape it and you’re screwed out the gate. Nothing goes right that is not in accordance with Nature who knows herself. Reason studies Nature and makes endless adaptations by extending/understanding her.
All opposites are cooperative in function. The cross of the moon cycle as well as the cross of the four seasons represents this basic and inescapable order. Directions are always going to be relative to each other. Our encounters are along orderly lines, though we recognize it not.
Our encounters come together by way of attraction or magnetism. If you follow astrology, especially the moon, you will see why Qabalah calls her The Uniting Intelligence. If you time an event or encounter and look for where the moon is, it will reflect the experience.
There is no way that you can simply repel or cut off that which is unwanted. You must change your vibration. Changing your vibration changes your relationship. If the 45th upsets you, you have to change your vibrations in order to diminish his affect upon you. Changing your vibrations can look any number of ways. For example, turning your attention to something enjoyable in your immediate sphere of influence or affirming that the power that creates worlds is within you now.
Change your thoughts to change your manifestations. Change your feelings to change your thoughts.
In the past couple of years, I have changed my fundamental thinking about how life is supposed to be. I believe that life is supposed to be good, and I am supposed to be happy. I don’t do that “Life is hard” stuff. That way of thinking self-fulfills.
This Full Moon features a grand trine in water signs, with Mars in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. How do you feel? How do you like your prospects for a good life? The Moon in Cancer becomes a focal point of the grand trine with the opposition of Venus, Sun and Pluto. Imagination uses a sense of purpose to transcend limitations.
This sets up The Hero’s journey, an expedition that seeks to balance good and evil, dark and light. This full moon gives us the opportunity to overcome the treacherous appearances in our lives." A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are encountered [on the journey] and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his (her) fellow human beings.” – Joseph Campbell. The hero is the master of her own feelings and drives herself to safety.
Life is a glorious, magical, wonderful great adventure. It is satisfying and fulfilling. When things go wrong or I worry, I say, “Everything is always working out for me.” I have never been disappointed by this stance.
When you are worried, I invite you, to say, “Everything is always working out for me. The Universe has my back and is the wise, excited, enthusiastic champion of my plans.” Say it until you feel it. Feel it so that you can say it with confidence.
