Aim High!

I dreamed I told my former boss that he might think me wild, but that I believed the crisis wasn't that there are not enough jobs, but that  many people are no longer willing to do joyless, soulless workthat people are leaving jobs in droves for entrepreneurship.

I woke up with a strong feeling people are learning the steady paycheck is not promised and has not lead to the promised life. The paycheck is becoming worth less and less. Many of us are no longer courted with good, inexpensive health care and retirement and other generous perks. Folk are making noises that the good days are necessarily gone.

The media's message implies, you had better cling to your job and be very afraid and thankful for the job you have even if it is meeting less and less of your basic needs. If you are subject to the implanted belief that there is no way to make a way, you might be clinging desperately to your job, when you would leave your job in a click and a beat if you were filled with the determined heat of belief in your prospects.

Think about it. Are you holding onto your job with your will and your psyche because you love it or the life that results from it? Are you holding onto your job and hoping that you don’t lose it because it allows you to have so much joy after hours? Or are you holding onto your job because it pays the bills that finance existence though not a meaningful living?

This is not a call for people to leave their jobs. Many people have already left the “job” way . Many who have been downsized or laid off have made their circumstances into opportunity. Many who don’t have jobs and are alleging that they seek them, are so turned off by their working past that they are in fact barely searching. I am aware of at least one company that is attracting women and men by the thousands and teaching them how to employ their own wit and will with an eye toward being connected to the Source and limitless income. If you leave a job and don’t know or learn how to trustingly engage the Source, you’ll be desperate for another job in short order.

The idea is to work with personal intent, as the captain of your own ship and the master of your own fate. The self-generating income muscle is atrophied or dormant in most of us. We thought the big gig was to get the job and not have to think about how to make a dollar. All we have to do is do our job as described. Let somebody else worry about where the money is coming from. We thought that fixed allowance that’s supposed to grow in the form of raises was good, and maybe it was for a while. Maybe a job is just training wheels for some. Fewer and fewer of us are getting enough via the wage and raise system to keep our lives above subsistence or bored existence. At least we know money is going to be there every other Friday, even if it is gone by Monday; spent on bills, not thrills.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius searches for meaning, healing, growth, and connection. Jupiter, the planet that rules Sagittarius, is in the 6th house of work and service (including armed services), as well as health, integration and well-being. Basically, this house addresses how things are running or getting on in your life.

If you are not in love with your job, this conversation might be for you. Is there really a job shortage, or are people shorting out on accepting that jobs should be soulless. It’s one thing to discipline yourself to do the unpleasant things that have to be done—in that case there is a trade off. You give your service in exchange for a regular income that comes like clockwork every week or two. That income in turn funds your life, today’s needs, the bills, entertainment, enhancement and your goals for yourself and your children, including their present and future education.

But that’s just not happening for a lot of people. Something is wrong with this picture. Feels like somebody or something is putting the squeeze on us and messing with our hearts, our minds, our well-being, as well as our jobs. In honor of Sagittarius, let us aim for a higher perspective.

If you are fretting about the prospect of losing a job or not having one, be still, and look deeper. What is the gift of the economic strife for our collective? We see that something is going on world-wide. Don’t be fearful. Be interested. Be curious. Treat it as a spiritual thing for good and not a calamitous thing like a struck tower or eviction from the garden.

Feel safe.  If you are able to read this, you are safe. No matter what is happening or has happened, you survived. You are alive. Expect the best. It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom, and you don’t have to sell your soul to get it. You don’t have to rely on anyone else to get it for you . You don’t have to beg for it or apply for it, or even pray for it. You just have to realize that if you want more from life there is more to be had. Just consider that it could be different, that there might be something better from you, a way of being creative and resourceful and always able to make a way for you and yours in exchange for more than a pittance. We don’t have to have all the answers. We can make good headway by asking the right questions.

“If you leave a job and don’t know or learn how to trustingly engage the Source, you’ll be desperate for another job in short order.” … I find this line is so key! This was a beautiful, truthful + insightful post straight from Source. Thank you for sharing!

Your message is wonderful! And what I like to equate as “Straight, No Chaser” like the Thelonius Monk song. In June, I graduated with a BA in Cultural studies. I love it! I love what the experience of this background gave me…a broader perspective of life, people, behavior, and cultural influences that are stimulated by our natural and culturally constructed environments, along with the impact of social and political forces. Suddenly my puzzle got clearer and as a Black woman I was empowered with knowledge; I felt that I could find work that would suit my level of personal and academic education; As I began my quest for work I found myself skipping over jobs that did not seem meaningful enough and then going back to fill out applications for those very jobs because media reports of employment prospects were filled with doom and gloom over the economy. The world had changed too; resumes and interviews were more complex and competition high; I was older and well over 40, I had education and life experience but I wanted meaningful work too! I panicked and soon adopted a fear of seeing myself without a future and a loan ball and chain. I became stressed, depressed, angry, doubtful, and cynical. Your entire message aligns with my personal journey and I am so grateful to be reading it! It is so pervasive and this line is one of so many that makes me realize I’m still in good hands “If you are fretting about the prospect of losing a job or not having one, be still, and look deeper” It actually affirms my soul searching and getting clear, and where I’m heading today in order to turn my life around and attract, create, and link into sources and resources, people, and ideas that move me toward entreprenuership – it will be a testament that brings me forward and toward the power I already own…I turn on belief, faith, and vision, and being proactive lets the universe know I am ready to take control. Thank you for reaaching into my soul!

Thank you, Inez. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  4. Sharon says:

WOW – Deep, Cleansing SIGH! (Inhaling your words of wisdom; Exhaling and letting go of any fear and worry surrounding this area of life.)

Thank you Inez for always putting into words the strongest optimism for our hearts. I have been holding off the media’s negative thoughts/words pushing away fear-based living for sound, strong mental and emotional insight such as yours (and my own). But it is so hard to steer clear when everywhere you look/listen it’s purposefully negative or frightening. Even when I speak words of Blessing and endless abundance it’s countered with limitation, fear, and well more fear; reasonably expressed and perfectly attuned to so many others.

Your words send light and love into the FOG, bringing clarity and hope. If we all join our optimism with yours, maybe we can clear larger patches of light to dispel more fear! I so appreciate this message and the wisdom that shares it. I am very Thankful to have read your last paragraph beginning with “Feel Safe. …” I will stay strong and put soulful joy into my work as I seek clearly for more meaningful work that serves my soul and those around me, knowing it is always there – for all of us.

    Blessings

I believe a revolution has started. And I like it.

“…or even pray for it.” Nuff Said!!!

Ms. Inez, you have no idea what hit me when I read those words of yours above. As a youngin’ and you hear of Newton’s theory of how energy can’t be created or destroyed, just transformed. I said to myself, “Hmmph, everlasting life is being taught right here in science class… so why in Sunday’s class, sunday school, they’re telling us that you gotta ‘give your life to your …’ in order to get everlasting life? Looks like science is saying you don’t have to do that, cause it already is.” In this regard I always felt the similar about ‘prayer.’ Not meditation, that’s different to me. But ‘prayer’. Who are we really praying to? It’s rhetorical…don’t answer that. Smiles…

The above may read as hyperbole. But it’s exactly what came to mind soon after I read your “…or even pray for it.” Thank You. <3
