All Order All The Time

New Moon
April 14, 2010
24 Aries 27’

My life shifted back in 1977 when I went to take a class that I thought was on astrology, but turned out to be tarot divination. There was this beautiful young male being who could have been cast as an angel saying, “There is order in the universe. No matter what happens, no matter how bad or good it appears to be, there is an underlying order.” I had never heard such a thing (that I remembered). It was lightning—a bolt that still resounds. I fell in love with that concept.

The New Moon is in Aries. Aries is assigned to The Emperor, “He who sets in order.” The Emperor’s order is first and central. The Emperor’s number is four. You can tell that the Emperor means business—that he is the light on the hill in the valley. He’s precise. What a relief and a joy it has been to know that there is always order. That way we need never shut a door, never fail to cut some margin of slack, even if it is necessary to keep an arm’s length of distance.

There is order in the muck, mire, and mess. There is order in the contradictions and the confusion. Knowing that despite appearances order reins is the key to getting out of bondage to the gravity of “Can’t help it.” Can’t help it and can’t help myself.

The problem you are trying to solve contains the solution and answer you seek. The answer won’t be found if we keep blaming stuff on chance, chaos and the Devil. You will never level headedly solve your problem if you don’t rise above it. If you live lavishly on blame, you will not be able to organize and rule your kingdom as an agent of the All-Seeing Eye of Providence.

We go through things that are apparently against our will. We suffer loss. Our hopes are dashed. We experience disappointment. However, the more it hurts or frustrates, the more good it can do our soul. That much pain without the possibility of gain would be cruel and unusual punishment. It would be futility—the end—no expansion, only contraction.

In one scenario, the opposite of expansion would be contraction (equated with bad) because growth is the nature of life. In another scenario, contraction is like manifestation as in the way the uterus contracts to expel the baby into a vaster world. Contraction could be chosen for it’s life-giving labors. Discipline is an example of contraction. Enduring the weak beginning and sticking to the task while feeling silly is another form of contraction. If we are aligned with the still, small, simple point, we are never in trouble, never out of the sight of the watchful all-seeing eye, the simple point at the apex of the pyramid or triangle (depicted on the dollar bill), and neither are our children. Our friends are not out of sight of the Eye, and neither are our enemies. The darkness and the trouble we see is the mote in our own eye. We cast aspersions with our fears, prejudices and blind spots.

When we know that our enemies, no matter how threatening or incongruous they may appear, are protected/projected by the same watchful eye, we have to give them grace. We have to step aside and vow to do no harm. We cannot set up our minds to destroy them or malign them in any way. Who are we not to respect who God, by whatever name or no name, respects, protects and cares for? This doesn’t mean we have to get in bed with them or break bread with them. But if we don’t fear them, we don’t give them my power.

What if we were not afraid? Wouldn’t we exercise more free will? Wouldn’t we do more decision-making? Wouldn’t we stand up to liars and cheats? Wouldn’t we stop falling for the okey doke and taking it on the chin?

Let us discipline our minds to shape what we want to shape because we know it is in our hands. It’s up to us to manage our emotions and consecrate them to higher purposes. We connect to others to make a better future together.

We reach across the aisle, across the street, across cultures and sexes, across the world. We reach in our mind’s eye first. We admit possibility before we know the way. We express gratitude before we have the prize. As we see it, so it shall be.

I always enjoy your wisdom and sober reminders. This made my day. Eternal gratitude for that.

  2. Niamo Says:

i agree this message is as stunning a reminder as it is humbling and cathartic. i presence the allowing of enemies as one with friends inside this very momentous reading of life. I wasn’t allowing them really. Just thought they didn’t understand me or i wasn’t open to their hearts. Yes, these things too. I get it. “Even my errors are correct” as Nikki Giovanni succinctly put it. Ever awed thanks, Inez!

  3. Kelly Walker Says:

Your insights are so timely. They are steadying and refreshing. Yes,I’ll have me another….Thank you Inez!
