Risk Not. Win Not.

New Moon
April 24, 2009
5 Taurus 04’

Going for your dreams is one thing. Can you take chances on going for the requirements of the day? Can you do anything about whatever is causing you to feel less than cheerful today? Can you champion yourself in an effort to make right whatever is wrong? Something is not working for you. Do you take the steps to bring about a remedy despite the risk of possibly making things worse or failing? Do you think you are better off with your problem than without it? Maybe it gives your life meaning, gives you something to whine about or talk about. Maybe you strut your stuff talking about what you are going to do, and how they better not mess with you, but then you don’t proceed to make good on your word and prove to be no threat. Or do you hope that some day the obstructions or problems will dissolve without your help just as apparently, they appeared in your life without your help?

The South Node is in Leo. The New Moon squares the North and South Nodes. Risk is the dragon’s tail. Risk has to go along for the ride if you are going to follow the dragon’s head of Aquarius to get, revelations, solutions, clarity, and oneness with others.

The North Node’s message is: Be free, young man. Be free, young woman. Be free because you are free. Your freedom is today. Your freedom is now.

You don’t feel that you are free because you are wrapped up in a problem? Perhaps you are just trying to get out of your cocoon. Your hands are tied. Your feet our bound. Worse, your head is wound with something tight that tells you not to jump over the fence, or look over the bump. And don’t even think about somewhere over some rainbow.

But whose voice is that? Is it maybe an ugly conglomeration of voices from the past, the naysayers? What about your voice? What have you to say, when you hear, I can’t. Why are you playing yourself and when are you going to stop doing it? If someone says, “You can’t,” what are you supposed to holler back? Yes, I can! You don’t really have to holler back—you don’t have to convince anybody when you, yourself are convinced. You only let those voices stop you. When your strength and resolve are tested, you acquiesce. You fold. You say, “Whew! I’m glad I really don’t have to stick my neck out and try that, and go out there and fall and be humiliated. I’d rather keep my pearls in here with me, hidden even from me. I’d rather say they stopped me, than to admit that I stopped myself.

The they is not really outside. They might seem to be. Might seem to be a they who is taking your money or keeping you poor, or keeping you heavily taxed. And you don’t want it to be your fault either. It’s not. Don’t worry about blame. Assume the power that is yours, today and here now.

Take risks in the name of freedom. Take risks, because that is what free men and women do. And sometimes they get in jams. But risk not. Win not.

My hero, Harriet Tubman, said she would have freed more slaves if they only knew that they were free. Get that? They needed to know they were free while yet they were bound. Were they going to go North, where their free minds told them they would have a free environment? Would they follow their mind’s choice and risk the danger of being caught during the escape? Or would they opt for the certain hell that they had become accustomed to?

Recognize that you are financially unlimited, that nothing of the tangible world, including money, can stop you from exercising the freedom that your self-worth allows you to feel. Confidence and money rise together. The Moon is exalted in Taurus. You have money when you need money, resolve when you need resolve. Money can’t buy resolve. Get resolve. And get resourceful. Determine to have the thing you “need” to have to take your life out of bumpity bump status right now. Perhaps you are too affectionate with your bumps, daily obstructions, the person who doesn’t love you or treat you right, the world that doesn’t yield to you, the jobs that won’t pay you, the validations, absent, absent. You hug them, and weep your tears upon them, but you keep the invisible ankle bracelet on, and tug that bump to bed, and sleep your restless sleep with it under our head, and drag it into motion as soon as you drag yourself into motion in the morning.

Why is it that you are not expressing the freedom that you feel?
Tell me about your favorite bump. Well, start to tell me, then catch yourself. Describe for me somewhere over the bump.

What will you dare to do to get over the bump?
Who will you dare to be so that you can do what you need to do or say what you need to say? What will you risk losing so that you might, in fact, win the prize? Why do you care if what you will be losing is whatever keeps you on the same side of the bump, never over it?

Taurus square Leo is self-worth and self-confidence reckoning with self-expression. Hearing squares emoting. What you hear with that deep ear, you must speak. You must try to express the beauty of your inner senses. This is why creativity is like taking dictation. It is listening for something and carrying it out.

Self-confident people who are not overbearing are more fortunate in love. They are confident of their attractiveness, internally and externally. They are also more able to be true to themselves because they know themselves and are sure of themselves. Taurus square Leo is about being true to yourself and your own values.

The other side of Leo is Aquarius and it is our North Node. The North Node is where the flag of progress is planted in two and a half year cycles. It’s a flag to follow because it marks the spot, the star to reach for and follow. You are in the mind, here, opposite the heart and guts of fiery Leo. You expand and expound on solutions. Cures are found. You imagine love and you win.

One Response to “Risk Not. Win Not.”

  1. Deborah Says:

This is the quote my research turned up: “I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.” But still I think the misquote works! I think so because Harriet and others like her had to realize that the condition of their existence did not match up with their spirit. And there were others who thought, hey, this is life–this is just the way it is.
