Saturn: The Celestial Teacher

Once again, welcome guest journalist, Ayesha Grice

Saturn, the celestial school teacher moved into Libra on Wednesday, July 21st, after being in Virgo for two and a half years. Saturn will be in Libra until October 5, 2012. I’ve already heard from Librans, Geminis, and Aquarians, that they are feeling the positive connection to Saturn’s energy. Some people are starting new companies, others are going back to weight watchers, and with my moon rising and North Node in Libra, I’ve started writing again with a passion. These are all positive side effects of Saturn in Libra, forming easily favorable aspects to some signs.

However, Saturn can also help the signs that are going to experience Saturn in a more intense and challenging way—Cancers, Capricorns, and Aries. For people born under these signs, the work will be more internal and provide an opportunity to raise self esteem through challenges to the self esteem. Watch what comes up for you and view it as a challenge to strengthen your resolve to be successful, joyful, and compassionate.

By the way, when Saturn moves into Libra, it will be exalted. That’s astrology speak that says we all can benefit more abundantly by this Saturn position. We’ll all be motivated to connect with others and form positive partnerships and relationships with Saturn in Libra, because Libra deals with relationships. When we get around to Libra in the Zodiac, we move from personal desire and self, to selflessness and collective accomplishments—from “I am” to “We are.” Saturn in Libra will inspire all of us to stop giving our power away. We’ll learn that our opinion of who we are is more important than what others may think. We have the opportunity to become focused on our own natural gifts and talents, while connecting with people who are lovingly supportive.

Libra rules the kidneys in the physical body, so it is vitally important to make a positive connection to water while Saturn is in Libra. Stay hydrated and be in water (while swimming is the best or long baths or showers also works.) On the spiritual level, Saturn in Libra will help us to rid ourselves of impure thoughts or speech. Gossip is the worst habit that humans possess, so going on a gossip fast is a good idea when Saturn is in Libra. If you’re focused on doing what you do, you won’t have time to gossip about what others are doing.

“Successful” people who are making money or enjoy a high profile, say they just don’t have time in their busy schedules to be sidetracked by gossip. When I counsel people who are not doing what they know they should be doing (everybody really knows what that is), they seem to be immersed in gossip and speak about what others are doing, or not doing.I love the story about Martin Luther King, Jr. and how he attempted to stop gossip within his organization. When someone would come to him with a juicy tidbit, he’d ask three questions: “is it true, is it kind, and is it necessary.” If the person couldn’t answer yes to all three, he didn’t want to hear it.

You might have noticed that lately relationships seem to be in turmoil, and many relationships are breaking up.The side effects of Saturn in Libra is that if the relationship isn’t working it will probably end . . . and that’s just, because everything is in Divine right order. Now’s the time for people to be with their Divine right mate. So while many relationships are ending, there just as many relationships beginning. Saturn in Libra will help people to know what it is they need in a healthy relationship. The good news is that people who really want to share their lives with a special partner, will find a way to connect with that special person. Saturn will teach us to first love ourselves unconditionally and then we’ll be able to love someone else unconditionally.

It’s all good, and it is all right.

Love you,
Ayesha

is it the teacher who forms good relationships then? the self teaching the self to connect with self and kind? I didn’t realize Saturn was exalted in Libra. Mine is conjunct Neptune in the 8th house which must mean something in through here….

Thank you Ayesha for opening my eyes to the relatedness of Libra and why i am the kind of person who MUST be in relationship. gossip destroys relatedness. I AM very much feeling the WE ARE energy. just saw Fela! last night so all this is intensified. ubuntu! ache’ alhamdulillah!

Dear Niamo, I think of Saturn as the celestial teacher that teaches discipline and focus. When it’s in Libra we are learning how to relate to one another in a more focused or disciplined way. We can learn from one another when we open our minds and hearts to new ideas. Also Fela (haven’t seen it yet) is an example of Saturn in Libra. From what I’ve heard, its creative, enjoyable and informative at the same time. So folks enjoy the music, the dancing and they are receiving deep concepts too. There is a purpose to Fela. Sounds like you’ll be experiencing your 2nd Saturn return, with Saturn in Libra, conjunct
Neptune. A time to let go of the past and to open up to new concepts of creativity. Maybe even learning a new way to meditate or opening up to the spiritual concept regarding money, (8th House), tithing, getting on top of your finances, etc. etc. Also, considering new concepts regarding the continuation of of life, etc. etc.
Of course much depends on the aspects to your Saturn/Neptune in Libra :o) Love & Light, Ayesha
